Ramprasad K., a 25-year-old artist from Puttur, has been adjudged as the winner of the logo design contest for Viksit Bharat-Guranatee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission Gramin (VB-G RAM G). He will be felicitated by Union Minister for Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan, at the National Vikas Sammelan in New Delhi on June 29.

The contest was conducted by Union Ministry of Rural Development, in collaboration with MyGov. The contest was aimed at building distinctive visual identity for the Act while connecting the programme’s vision with creativity of people.

In a press note, the Ministry said as many as 7,233 entries were received from across the country. “The selected logo captures the essence of the Act by symbolising human dignity, collective effort, and the transformative journey towards Viksit Bharat, while reflecting the core pillars of employment generation, livelihood security, and rural resilience,” the release stated.

Speaking to The Hindu, Mr. Ramprasad, who is into painting and doing packaging designs, said he got to know of the contest one week before the deadline for submission of logos.

“I was working on the logo for VB-G RAM G, along with other art work, and missed the deadline. However, after learning about the extension of deadline by four days, I quickened the process and submitted the logo design,” he said.

“I kept the logo design simple to include all features of the VB-G RAM G Act in the letters V and B,” said Mr. Ramprasad, a Bachelor of Visual Art (Applied Art) graduate from Mahalasa College of Visual Art, Mangaluru. He said the design reflected the fundamentals of Applied Art that were ingrained at the institute during the four-year course period.

Mr. Ramprasad will be leaving to Bengaluru from Puttur on Saturday (June 27, 2026) night. He will reach New Delhi on June 28 and take part in the felicitation function on June 29.
