The Ministry of External Affairs on Monday (October 19, 2026) rejected references to India in resolutions adopted at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Baghdad on October 17-18, calling them “malicious, biased and false” and claiming they were orchestrated by Pakistan.

In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said it was disappointed that the OIC had “once again allowed itself to be misused by Pakistan for its bigoted agenda.”

The MEA reiterated that the OIC has no locus standi to comment on matters strictly internal to India. The Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, it said, are integral and inalienable parts of India, and “politically motivated propaganda” cannot alter that reality.

The Ministry pointed out that since the abrogation of Article 370, Jammu and Kashmir had seen significant economic growth, with infrastructure development, tourism and connectivity benefiting its people directly. It contrasted this with Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), where it said Pakistan had unleashed violence, repression and brutality on civilian protesters, killing scores, including women and children. “No amount of media blackout” could hide these violations, it added.

The only outstanding issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir, the MEA said, were Pakistan vacating areas under its “illegal and forcible occupation” and ceasing its support for cross-border terrorism.

On other references in the resolutions, including insinuations of Islamophobia, the Ministry called them a “desperate attempt” by Pakistan to divert international attention from its record of minority persecution and sectarian violence, as well as governance failure and political instability.

The MEA said the OIC’s repeated endorsement of propaganda peddled by Pakistan raised “serious questions about its credibility and integrity”, and expressed the hope that its members would “do better and reform this organisation”.
