The police on Saturday (August 22, 2026) arrested an individual involved in two different murder cases at DG Peta village in Chandrasekharapuram (CS Puram) mandal, Markapuram district, and recovered gold ornaments and weapons.

Addressing a press conference in Ongole, Superintendent of Police V. Harshavardhan Raju said, “On the afternoon of August 13, 2026, the accused attacked Pavali Venkata Subbamma, 56, a resident of DG Peta, while she was returning home with a bundle of fodder and stole her gold chain and earrings. Her brother lodged a complaint at the CS Puram Police Station. Eight special teams were formed to investigate this case.”

The SP further stated, “The teams identified and apprehended Pavali Suresh and interrogated him. He confessed to his involvement in another case in which he killed Dega Ratthamma, also from the same village, in October 2024 to loot her jewellery.”

Mr. Harshavardhan Raju commended Markapuram OSD Navajyothi Mishra, Kanigiri In-charge DSP Sridhar Babu, Pamuru CI D. Vinod Kumar, Kanigiri CI U. Srinivas, Podili CI M. Rajesh, Kandukur CI SK. Khaja Vali, CCS CI Kamalakar, and others for solving the cases.
