Man held on charge of pawning fake ornaments

The Kasaba police on Saturday (October 25, 2025) arrested a 48-year-old man from Chathamangalam who allegedly pawned fake gold ornaments with a private financing firm in Kozhikode city. The accused was identified as P.V. Dhanesh. He reportedly secured ₹90,000 using fake bangles weighing about 11 grams. The police said the man was taken into custody immediately after the ornaments were checked at an approved hallmarking centre. They added that an investigation was underway to determine whether he was involved in any similar cases in the past.
