A 27-year-old man has been arrested by the Perumbavoor police for allegedly attempting to sexually assault a 46-year-old woman following a theft attempt at her house. The accused has been identified as Ebin Tomy, a native of Nellikuzhy, Kothamangalam.
The alleged incident occurred on July 10. According to the police, the accused trespassed into the house and attempted to break open an almirah while the residents were away from home in the evening.
He then allegedly hid on the premises and assaulted the woman when she returned home around 7 p.m., the police said. The accused allegedly rode to the house on a motorcycle reportedly stolen from within the Vazhakala police station limits.
He has been booked in around 10 cases across various police stations.
