The Hill Palace police have arrested a 23-year-old man for allegedly assaulting police officers and damaging a police vehicle while in custody. The arrested is Devadas from Njarakkal.
He allegedly attacked personnel of the Infopark police after they detained him near Rajagiri College at Kakkanad following complaints of creating public nuisance and misbehaving with passersby under alleged influence of alcohol.
He allegedly manhandled and hurled abuse at police personnel accompanying him when he was taken to the Thripunithura Taluk Hospital for a mandatory medical examination. The accused reportedly damaged the patrol vehicle when he was being taken back from the hospital.
The Hill Palace police booked him on charges of assaulting police personnel and destruction of public property.
