Make Telangana safest manufacturing location, official tells pharma industry

A senior official in Telangana government on Saturday underscored the need for pharmaceutical industry to view safety as a key driver of competitiveness rather than merely a compliance requirement.

Director and CEO of Lifesciences and Pharma Sarvesh Singh, who was addressing a CII Telangana conference here, said this calling for fostering a proactive safety culture through continuous incident reporting and the deployment of advanced technologies. As the Life Sciences and vaccine capital of the world, Telangana has a greater responsibility, he said.

“Innovation, quality, and safety are the three pillars of a globally competitive Life Sciences ecosystem,” he said, urging stakeholders to make Telangana the safest destination for pharmaceutical manufacturing. He stressed the need to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI), IoT, digital twins, wearables and drone-based inspections, CII Telangana in a release on the conference on ‘Pillars of Protection – Forging a Safer Future for Pharma and Chemical Manufacturing.’

Prominent industry leaders from pharma and chemical manufacturing sector in Telangana addressed the conference, which was the second in the series.

Convener of CII Telangana Pharma and Life Sciences Panel Chakravarthi AVPS said: “scale without safety is a liability and growth without resilience is unsustainable.” He said this urging industry to move beyond compliance and embed safety by design as a core business philosophy.

Past chairman of CII Telangana R. Sivaprasad Reddy said process safety is fundamental to building a resilient and globally competitive Life Sciences sector. He reaffirmed CII-TG’s commitment to advancing industry through knowledge sharing, capacity building and best-practice collaboration.
