Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Thursday (December 25, 2025) said the true strength and character of a majority lies in ensuring that minorities live without fear.

In a post on X, Mr. Stalin said when a few right-wing violent groups, acting in the name of the majority, indulge in attacks and riots, even as the Prime Minister participates in Christmas celebrations, it sends a disturbing message to the nation.

After Manipur, reports of attacks on minorities in Jabalpur, Raipur, and elsewhere are unacceptable to anyone who values harmony. A reported 74% rise in hate speech against minorities since the BJP assumed office at the Centre signals grave danger ahead. Curbing riotous groups that divide society is, therefore, a shared and urgent duty, to be enforced with firm resolve, he added.

MPs, MLAs call on CM

On the occasion of Christmas, MPs, MLAs, and bishops called on Chief Minister M.K. Stalin at his residence in Chennai.

Rajya Sabha Member P. Wilson, Tiruchi East MLA Inigo Irudayaraj, Tamil Nadu State Minorities Commission chairperson J. Arun, VGP group chairperson V.G. Santhosam, and bishops met Mr. Stalin and conveyed Christmas wishes.
