A landslide on the Mumbai-Goa highway near Chiplun has stopped vehicle movement on both sides for over 12 hours, with the administration’s clearance work proceeding slowly due to rain.
Vehicle movement on the Mumbai-Goa highway has been affected by a landslide in the Khavati area near Chiplun. The debri has blocked the road, and vehicles have not moved for a period of 10 to 12 hours on this stretch. Travellers have reported that food, water, and fuel are not available at their locations. Administration teams began debris removal in the morning, but rainfall has slowed the pace of work. Authorities have issued an advisory for drivers travelling from Mumbai to Goa and have asked them to remain cautious.

A landslide has also occurred on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway near the Parashuram Ghat area. Soil and rocks have started sliding from a hill located near the Omega Hotel. Vehicle movement on this route has been stopped.
In Raigad district, the Khopoli-Pen highway has been closed for traffic between Sarsan and Isamba Phata due to water accumulation. The ‘Missing Link’ project on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway has suffered damage, with a slab subsiding. A video of water and mud entering through the damaged section is being shared on social media.
The meteorological department has issued a red alert for Raigad district. The Savitri River in Mahad has reached the warning level, and water has entered areas along the riverbank. Market areas in the town and nearby settlements have been affected. The administration is monitoring the situation.
