Lt. Gen. Balbir Singh takes over as GOC 15 Corps in Srinagar

Lt. Gen. Balbir Singh on Friday (May 1, 2026) took over as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Srinagar-based 15 Corps of the Army, considered as one of the main units engaged in counter-insurgency operations and manning the Line of Control (LoC).

According to the Army, the Chinar Corps Commander reaffirmed his commitment to work in close synergy with the civil administration and the people to advance lasting stability and inclusive growth in the region.
