More than 24,700 pending cases in Mysuru district have been identified for amicable settlement during the National Lok Adalat to be held on July 11, offering thousands of litigants an opportunity to resolve disputes through conciliation and ease the burden of prolonged litigation.

The National Lok Adalat, organised by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), will be held in courts across the country. The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Mysuru, has completed all necessary preparations to facilitate the settlement of eligible cases pending before courts in the district.

According to the DLSA, litigants whose cases are pending before courts in Mysuru district can participate in the Lok Adalat and settle their disputes through mutual consent. Cases resolved in the Lok Adalat attain conclusiveness, and court fees paid by litigants are refunded in accordance with law. Since the award passed by a Lok Adalat is final and binding on all parties, no appeal can be filed against it.

A DLSA press release said the Lok Adalat will take up a wide range of disputes, including criminal cases, cheque bounce cases, bank recovery matters, money recovery suits, motor accident compensation claims, employee compensation cases, labour disputes, matrimonial and family matters, land acquisition cases, revenue disputes, partition suits, possession suits, specific performance suits, domestic violence cases, birth and death registration matters, and other civil disputes that are legally eligible for settlement through compromise.

A total of 1,35,901 cases are currently pending before courts in Mysuru district. Of these, 24,702 cases have been identified as suitable for settlement during the National Lok Adalat.

Senior Civil Judge and Member Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Nagaraj Siddappa Ankasadoddi, appealed to litigants, advocates, banks, insurance companies, government departments and the public to actively participate in the Lok Adalat and take advantage of the opportunity for amicable resolution of disputes.
