The Left Democratic Front (LDF) on Wednesday (October 15, 2025) took out a rally and held a public meeting in Perambra town to explain its stand on the recent “police action” on Shafi Parambil, Vadakara MP, after which he suffered nasal injuries and admitted to a hospital.

Addressing the meeting, LDF convener and local MLA T.P. Ramakrishnan alleged that efforts were being made to frame innocent people for the recent political skirmishes in the town after circulating false stories and fake media reports. He also accused certain police officials of going along with this trend, which was not appropriate.

Mr. Ramakrishnan said that police officials were supposed to examine what was right and what was wrong and take legal action based on their judgment. E.P. Jayarajan, senior CPI(M) leader, accused Congress activists of assaulting the Perambra grama panchayat president without any provocation during a ‘hartal’ called by the party there recently.
