The High Court committee of the All India Lawyers’ Union on Monday (July 20) organised a protest meeting in solidarity with the ongoing student agitation demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities in competitive examinations. The meeting also condemned the alleged police atrocities against the protesters.

The meeting demanded that the life of activist Sonam Wangchuk, who is on an indefinite hunger strike in solidarity with the young protesters, be protected and that the issues underlying the agitation be addressed immediately.

The protest was inaugurated by Thomas Abraham. M. Saseendran presided over the meeting. C.M. Nasser, C.E. Unnikrishnan, K.R. Deepa and E.C. Bineesh addressed the gathering.
