Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao has accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of deliberately withholding fee reimbursement dues amounting to over ₹10,000 crore, thereby depriving lakhs of poor and middle-class students of access to higher education.

Addressing a roadshow in Somajiguda as part of the Jubilee Hills bypoll on Tuesday, Mr. Rao alleged that the Congress government is conspiring to weaken Telangana’s educated youth and undermine the aspirations of thousands of families dependent on the scheme.

He said the Revanth Reddy government, instead of clearing the pending dues, had been intimidating private colleges and educational institutions already struggling to survive.

He further alleged that the Congress government had stopped several welfare schemes introduced by the previous BRS regime, including Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, KCR Kits, Bathukamma saree distribution, Ramzan and Christmas gifts, and had even discontinued the free water supply scheme in Hyderabad.

Mr. Rao appealed to voters in Jubilee Hills to use the bypoll to teach the Congress a lesson on behalf of the four crore people of Telangana who were ‘betrayed’.
