The Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (KKRTC) will operate 500 additional buses to clear the Dasara rush, long weekends and consecutive holidays.

In a press note issued on Thursday, KKRTC Managing Director B. Susheela said that the extra buses will run from district and taluk centres in the Kalyana Karnataka region to Bengaluru and Tuljapur in Solapur district of Maharashtra to facilitate smooth travel for passengers.

The additional services will be operated on September 26 and 29 from district and taluk centres to Bengaluru, Tuljapur and other key destinations.

Similarly, extra buses will be operated from Bengaluru to various destinations on September 26, 27 and 30.

Post-festival, from October 3 to 5, additional services will be operated depending on passenger demand, she added.

For the convenience of passengers, advance reservation of seats has been made available at 18 computerised booking counters across Karnataka and in neighbouring States.

Passengers booking tickets for four or more persons in one transaction will get a 5% discount, while those booking both onward and return journey tickets together will be offered a 10% concession on fares, she said.

Ms. Susheela further appealed to passengers to carefully check the bus terminal, pick-up point and name mentioned on their tickets before boarding.
