The Kerala High Court on Tuesday admitted a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by Kerala Students Union State president Aloshious Xavier, accusing the State government of misusing public funds to conduct the door-to-door survey named ‘Nava Kerala Citizen Response Programme’, ahead of the State elections.

The court directed the government to submit an affidavit in this regard by January 21. The petitioner alleged that the survey that began earlier this month was a blatant misuse of public funds and the government machinery for a partisan political campaign disguised as an administrative exercise.
