As early leads and trends of State Assembly elections trickled in during the counting of votes in Kerala, celebrations began at the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram, with the United Democratic Front (UDF) appearing to head toward a landslide victory in the State.

As the counting entered the third round, the mood at the Congress headquarters turned jubilant, with party workers kickstarting celebrations by distributing sweets. Anticipating a comfortable win, the KPCC had made extensive arrangements to mark the victory.

Although the UDF and the Left Democratic Front (LDF) were closely matched in the postal votes, a celebratory atmosphere prevailed at the Congress headquarters once counting shifted to electronic voting machines (EVMs), where the UDF established a clear lead over the rival Communist Party of India (Marxist).
