The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Kerala, is reported to have concluded that there had been no violation of rules over the recent opening of a polling material room by the returning officer (RO) for the Perambra Assembly constituency at the JDT Islam Education Complex, where electronic voting machines (EVMs) for eight segments in Kozhikode district are kept. The CEO has also found that the presence of the RO for the Koyilandy Assembly constituency near the strongroom on a subsequent day, too, was not illegal.

This was revealed by District Collector Snehil Kumar Singh, who is also the District Election Officer, at a press conference here on Saturday (May 2).
