The Union Home Ministry has selected Kavital Police Station in Raichur district as one of the three best police stations in the country for 2025.

In a letter on November 14 addressed to Director-General and Inspector-General of Police of Karnataka M.A. Saleem, Joint Director and Conference Secretary, Intelligence Bureau, Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi, Satyapriya Singh has stated: “A trophy will be handed over to the Station House Officer (SHO) of the police station of Kavital by the Union Home Minister on the occasion of the DGSP/IGSP Conference 2025 to be held at the Indian Institute of Management/IIM, Raipur, in Chhattisgarh, on November 28, 2025.”

Considering parameters fixed in extending pro-people services like response to complainants by women, the general public and aggrieved persons, prevention of atrocities against children and prevention of child marriages and maintaining a good environment and basic amenities, the station was selected as the best.

Expressing happiness, Superintendent of Police of Raichur district M. Puttamadaiah said: “The trophy will definitely be a boost for all police officers and other staff to put in more efforts to extend service to the people and society.”

Meanwhile, Sub-Inspector of Police Guruchandra Yadav is said to have been asked to travel to Raipur to receive the trophy.
