The members of the Senate of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) cannot be excluded from Local Inspection Committees (LICs) for conducting inspections for the continuation of affiliation of nursing and allied health sciences colleges, ruled the High Court of Karnataka.

The court also held that for amending or repealing the statute of the RGUHS, the Syndicate must submit its resolution to the Senate, and the Senate alone has the power to give assent to it, and thereafter, the resolution, along with the recommendation of the Senate, should be submitted to the State government for final approval.
