Karnataka has won the national award for having the highest under-construction wind capacity in 2024–25. The recognition was presented during the seventh edition of Windergy India 2025, the country’s flagship wind energy event held in Chennai.

The award was received by T.D. Raje Gowda, MLA and chairman of the Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL), and K.P. Rudrappaiah, managing director, KREDL, from Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and New and Renewable Energy.

Inaugurating the Karnataka pavilion, Mr. Joshi commended the State’s progressive renewable energy policies and said: “When the government and industry come together, we can achieve remarkable milestones in the renewable energy sector. It reflects the power of partnerships in driving innovation, boosting capacity, and building a sustainable future for our country”.
