Bengaluru police have sought permission from a local court to conduct a brain mapping test on an accused in the K.R. Puram triple murder case.

Kenneth, one of the accused in the case involving the murder of three members of a family residing in Seegehalli in K.R. Puram, is likely to undergo the brain mapping test if the court grants permission.

Somasundar, 55, his wife Muthulakshmi, 48, and their younger daughter Supriya, 20, were allegedly murdered at their apartment on June 22. Subsequent investigations revealed that Somasundar’s elder daughter, Shwetha, and her boyfriend Mr. Kenneth allegedly murdered the trio after the family objected to their relationship.

Ms. Shwetha and Mr. Kenneth were arrested from Puducherry on separate occasions. Police have recorded their statements, and the duo are currently in judicial custody.

Saidulu Adavath, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Whitefield, told The Hindu that the police want to verify the claims made by Mr. Kenneth and also ascertain whether there were any other motives behind the murders apart from those revealed during the investigation. Hence, they have sought permission to conduct a brain mapping test.
