Judicial custody of all eight accused in Ram Temple donation embezzlement case extended

A special court in Ayodhya on Monday (July 13, 2026) extended the judicial custody of eight accused arrested in the alleged Ram temple donation embezzlement case by 14 days. 

The accused were produced before the court of Additional District Judge Pratibha Narayan through video conferencing, and sent to judicial custody till July 27. 

On July 10, the prosecution had sought police remand of two accused — Ramashankar Yadav alias Tinnu Yadav and Subhash Srivastav. The court will decide on the matter on Tuesday (July 14). 

The eight accused — Ram Shankar Yadav alias Tinnu, Anukalp Mishra, Avinash Shukla, Karunesh Pandey, Manish Yadav, Lavkush Mishra, Ram Shankar Mishra and Subhash Srivastava — arrested in connection with the alleged embezzlement of donation funds at Ram temple were sent to judicial custody by a local court on June 29.

The Ayodhya police on June 28 conducted simultaneous searches at the residences of all eight accused as part of the investigation.

The case has been posted for next hearing on July 27.
