The Jammu and Kashmir Police counter-intelligence wing raided five districts in the valley on Saturday (August 8, 2026) to crack down on suspected terror-related activities, online misuse and alleged radicalisation networks, officials said.

Officials said the raids in Kupwara, Baramulla, Anantnag, Shopian and Bandipora were carried out in connection with FIR number 03/2023 registered at Police Station CIK, Srinagar, under Sections 505 and 153-A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and Sections 13 and 18 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

They said electronic devices and other incriminating material were recovered and seized during the searches, which will be sent for forensic examination to further the investigation.
