Jagga Reddy couple extends ₹10 lakh aid for youth’s eye treatment

In a heart warming gesture, former MLA T. Jagga Reddy and his wife and Sangareddy DCC president Nirmala Jagga Reddy donated ₹10 lakh to save the eyesight of an 18-year-old boy who lost his vision after suffering head injuries in a bike fall.

Mr. Reddy and his wife visited the family of Kishan Pawar, whose son, Sampuran Naik, lost vision due to the weakened optic nerve connecting his eye to the brain leading to a rare condition called optic hydropia.

The parents, who had already spent around ₹5 lakh on treatment, were advised by doctors that two more critical procedures, which require nearly ₹8 lakh, which the family was unable to afford.

When the family met Mr. Jagga Reddy and explained about their plight, he donated ₹10 lakh to ensure Sampuran’s treatment. Mr. Reddy earlier donated money to several cancer-stricken patients in Sangareddy district.
