Revenue Minister A. Satya Prasad showing the passbooks brought out by the YSRCP and NDA governments, at a press conference in Amaravati on Thursday.

Revenue, Registration and Stamps Minister Anagani Satya Prasad has accused YSRCP president and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of spreading lies on land issues and re-survey.

Addressing the media at the Secretariat in Amaravati on Thursday, Mr. Satya Prasad alleged that Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy was attempting “credit theft” over a process that had been initiated by the TDP government during its earlier term.

Reacting to Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s remarks earlier in the day, the Minister said the re-survey had been launched in 2018 by the TDP government at Takkellapadu village of Jaggayyapeta mandal with advanced technology and amendments to the Record of Rights (ROR) Act notified through a gazette.

Later, the YSRCP government had conducted the re-survey in a flawed manner, leading to 2.7 lakh complaints from the public, and misused the Land Titling Act and Section 22-A to facilitate illegal land grabbing, the Minister alleged.

Mr. Satya Prasad claimed that lands were arbitrarily placed under the prohibited list to intimidate landowners and prevent sales, benefiting YSRCP leaders.

He said the coalition government initiated major land reforms, established revenue clinics and removed several properties from the 22-A list. The Minister also accused the previous YSRCP government of spending ₹700 crore of public money on printing Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s photographs on survey stones and passbooks. He drew a comparison between the passbooks brought out by the YSRCP government and the ones introduced by the present government.

He said the NDA government issued revised passbooks with the State emblem and over 15 security features, and added that the government was examining revision of registration values in the urban areas where disparities existed. However, no final decision had been taken, the Minister said.
