An Integrated Village Development Programme (IVDP) was launched in Nanjangud by Nestle India on Tuesday in the presence of Nanjangud MLA Darshan Dhruvanarayan.

The programme focuses on strengthening village-level infrastructure and improving quality of life through a range of community-led interventions, including improvements to schools and Anganwadis, installation of Reverse Osmosis (RO) water purification units, pond restoration and other development initiatives, said a statement here.

The IVDP seeks to reaffirm the company’s commitment to supporting inclusive and sustainable community development.

Apart from Mr. Darshan Dhruvanarayan, the programme was attended by Rodrigo Aja Prado, factory manager, Kalale Keshavamurthy, former MLA, and other key government officials.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Dhruvanarayan said sustainable rural development requires collective effort and a focus on the needs of local communities. “Initiatives such as Nestlé India’s Integrated Village Development Programme can play an important role in strengthening essential infrastructure and improving access to vital services,” he said.

Factory manager Rodrigo Aja Prado said the company believes that “meaningful community development begins with understanding local needs and working together to address them”.

Through the Integrated Village Development Programme, the company aims to support communities through interventions spanning education, access to safe drinking water and restoration of local resources.

The initiative underscores the importance of collaboration between industry, government and communities in building a more inclusive and sustainable future, a statement from the company added.
