Thinking out of the box and embracing innovation are critical to accelerating the nation’s progress, Telangana government’s Urban Transport Advisor N.V.S. Reddy said on Monday.

Addressing the annual general body meeting of the Osmania University MBA Alumni Association, Mr. Reddy highlighted leadership qualities needed to excel in management roles. Drawing from his experience in executing the Phase‑I Hyderabad Metro Rail project under the Public‑Private Partnership (PPP) model, he spoke about the risks involved and the importance of quick decision‑making in resolving complex challenges.

He said effective leadership requires strong domain knowledge, courage of conviction, integrity, empathy and good communication skills. Mr. Reddy also explained the unique features of the Hyderabad Metro Rail project, several of which are now being emulated by metro systems in other cities. Later, he distributed merit certificates to toppers of the recently concluded MBA programme. Alumni Association president Jyotsna and other members were present, according to a press release.
