Indusind Bank shares fall over 6% even as lender’s consolidated profit jumps 72% YoY

Shares of Private lender IndusInd Bank tumbled over 6 per cent on Thursday, July 23, 2026, even as it posted a 72 per cent jump in its consolidated profit after tax to Rs 1,037.05 crore for the June quarter. The stock fell after six days of consecutive gains and opened in the red at Rs 1,049.95, down Rs 19.95, or 1.86 per cent, from the previous close of Rs 1,069.90 on the BSE. Amid a spurt in trading volume by more than 1.58 times, the scrip fell further and touched the intraday low of Rs 1,002.50. This is a fall of Rs 67.4 or 6.29 per cent from the last closing price. 

Technically, the stock is trading higher than the 20-day, 50-day, 100-day and 200-day moving averages but lower than the 5-day moving average.

IndusInd Bank Q1 profit jumps 72%

The lender has posted a 72 per cent jump in its consolidated profit after tax to Rs 1,037.05 crore for the June quarter, and guided towards a stronger profit show going ahead, saying its balance sheet has strengthened by actions of the past year.

The city-based lender had reported a net profit of Rs 604.07 crore in the year-ago period, and Rs 594.17 crore in the quarter-ago period.

For the April-June 2026 period, its core net interest income grew 1 per cent to Rs 4,685 crore on the back of a 2 per cent reduction in loans and net interest margin compressing to 3.35 per cent versus 3.46 per cent excluding one-off of a Rs 284 crore income tax refund.

Other income fell 17 per cent to Rs 1,787 crore during the quarter. The bottomline was helped by a 21 per cent reduction in provisions and contingencies at Rs 1,384 crore.

IndusInd Bank share price history 

According to BSE Analytics, the stock has gained 2.84 per cent in five years. However, it has corrected 27.76 per cent in three years and 28.01 per cent in two years. On a year-to-date (YTD) basis, it has gained 14.20 per cent as against the dip of 10.01 per cent in the benchmark index. 

The stock’s 14-day relative strength index (RSI) is 73.36. For the uninitiated, a level above 70 is considered overbought or overvalued, and below 30 is defined as oversold or undervalued.
