Indian Railways orders audit of signalling systems to ensure safety

The Indian Railways has ordered an audit of signalling systems across its network to rectify deficiencies and improve overall reliability of the critical assets for ensuring safety of train operations. 

Directing General Managers of all Zonal Railways to depute senior officers to conduct the audit, the Railway Board, in a safety advisory, said it was essential to ensure quality of newly commissioned installations and periodically review the existing/old systems to assess their reliability.
