In Bihar, BIADA allots 12.5 acres of land to 25 industrial units

In a decision that will accelerate the pace of industrial expansion, Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) has allotted 12.5 acres of plots to 25 industrial units in the state.

The move will give a significant boost to industrial activity, job creation and economic growth in the state.

The decision to allot plots and plug-and-play sheds to eligible candidates was taken at a meeting of Project Clearance Committee (PCC) of BIADA on Wednesday which was chaired by Industries Department’s Secretary and its (BIADA) MD Kundan Kumar.

It will further accelerate Bihar’s journey towards becoming a strong and diversified industrial hub, official sources said.

These approved proposals are poised to attract a cumulative investment of ₹168.52 crore and expected to generate 1194 direct employment opportunities apart from indirect employment opportunities in the state.

The prominent sectors that received allotments for setting up units across the industrial areas of the state included- Information Technology Enabled Service (ITES), Food Processing, Textile and Leather, Plastic and General Manufacturing.

These sectors are expected to significantly strengthen Bihar’s industrial ecosystem by attracting new investments, promoting sectoral growth, and creating employment opportunities across the State.

Among the applicants who have been allotted plots included — M/s Chemplast Products and Industries, M/s AD Biomass Energy Pvt Ltd, M/s Redcyber Solutions Pvt Ltd and M/s Rishav Multigrains Pvt Ltd.

“BIADA’s Project Clearance Committee has allotted plots and play-and-plug sheds to the eligible applicants in the industrial areas of Patna, Purnea, Siwan, Begusarai, Bhagalpur, Darbhanga, Bhojpur, Buxar, Madhubani, Nawada, Saharsa and West Champaran, “the BIADA official said.

Meanwhile, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary in Darbhanga announced that the state government will acquire 280 acres of land belonging to Ashok Paper Mill to establish new industries.

Addressing a public meeting at Nagendra Jha Stadium in Darbhanga, where he was present with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as part of the ongoing Samriddhi Yatra, Mr. Choudhary made this announcement.

Ashok Paper Mill at Rameshwar Nagar is spread over 400 acres of land and was established in 1958 but remained closed since November, 2003. Mr. Kumar also inaugurated 90 projects worth ₹138 crore in Darbhanga district.
