The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras, in collaboration with Vertiv, a US-based company providing critical digital infrastructure, and IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation, will train 2,000 students from science, technology, engineering, and mathematics background in data centre operations and management.
The students will go through a 35-hour self-paced online programme covering topics like data centre infrastructure, thermal and power management, remote monitoring, and predictive maintenance strategies essential for maintaining uptime and operational efficiency, a press release stated.
From the initial pool of students, 160 will get an opportunity to attend a five-day immersive programme at IIT Madras and will be given a Certified Intelligent Data Centre – Operations and Maintenance certificate.
Subhasis Majumdar, Managing Director, Vertiv India, Ashwin Mahalingam, Dean (Alumni and Corporate Relations), IIT Madras, and M.J. Shankar Raman, CEO, IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation, were present at the announcement of the partnership.
