Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar presented awards to 1,446 police personnel at a ceremony held at the Telangana State Integrated Command and Control Centre in Banjara Hills on February 8, recognising dedication and performance in the line of duty.

This was the first time the City Police introduced the ‘Extra Mile’ Awards, alongside the existing ‘Good Work Done’ rewards. The awards were finalised based on performance during the second, third and fourth quarters of the previous financial year. A total of 271 personnel received ‘Extra Mile’ Awards, while 1,175 personnel were given ‘Good Work Done’ rewards.

The awardees included Additional Deputy Commissioners of Police, Assistant Commissioners of Police, inspectors, sub inspectors, assistant sub inspectors, head constables, constables, home guards, ministerial staff and public prosecutors.

The commissioner said the recognition process would continue, with awards to be presented every month at the zonal level to station house officers, sub inspectors and constables for notable performance.
