The Mandya Zilla Panchayat has directed all government departments to submit verified and evidence-based data for the preparation of the District Human Development Report-2025 and the District Integrated and Sustainable Development Plan-2031, with the reports set to be finalised by the first week of July.
Presiding over a review meeting of sector-wise sub-committees at the Zilla Panchayat in Mandya on Monday, Chief Executive Officer K.R. Nandini said no incomplete information or data gaps should remain in the reports and instructed departments to furnish statistics backed by official records.
She noted that several indicators in the draft Human Development Report contained missing information and zero-value entries. Departments were asked to re-examine and authenticate the figures before resubmission.
Officials were directed to compile all pending information within a week to facilitate timely completion of the reports.
As part of the District Integrated and Sustainable Development Plan-2031, the district has decided to undertake case studies in key sectors such as health, education, livelihoods, economic activities and child development.
A special research study has also been proposed on Thiamine Responsive Acute Pulmonary Hypertension of Early Infancy (TRAPHEI), a condition associated with thiamine (Vitamin B1) deficiency that can cause severe pulmonary hypertension and cardiac complications in infants. The study will examine its prevalence, risk factors, preventive measures and public health implications, particularly in relation to infant mortality and maternal and child nutrition in the district, according to a press release.
