The Karnataka government has entrusted the Suvarna Arogya Suraksha Trust (SAST) with the authority to register hospitals under the ‘Karnataka Arogya Sanjeevini Yojane’, a scheme aimed at providing cashless medical treatment to State government employees and their dependent family members.

According to a government order, 186 government hospitals and 70 private hospitals have already been registered under the scheme. Private hospitals wishing to enrol under the programme must meet the required infrastructure and quality standards prescribed. The order further stated that SAST has been empowered to verify infrastructure facilities and other eligibility criteria before registering hospitals.
