Kethireddypalli near Moinabad recorded 12.9 cm of rainfall, while Chandanagar logged 12.7 cm and Lingampally recorded 11.7 cm of rainfall till 5 a.m. on Tuesday (June 23, 2026), classified as very heavy rainfall by Telangana Development Planning Society. Eight automatic weather stations recorded heavy rainfall, and 41 sensors logged moderate rainfall, marking an even spread of rainfall over Hyderabad.

At 10.30 pm, the India Meteorological Department had forecast: “Light to moderate rain/thundershowers with gusty winds reaching upto 50 kmph very likely to occur at a few places in parts of GHMC area during next 1-2 hours.”

But what the citizens experienced was something else. “Logged out late from the office, but the rain had other plans. Still waiting to get home as Hyderabad gets drenched tonight,” wrote Nagendra on social media at 12.41 a.m. sharing a streetview of Gachibowli.

The rainfall triggered a slew of complaints about disruption in power supply mostly from the western parts of the city.

“It has been more than 3 hours without electricity in Rajendranagar. Children are unable to sleep, and many of us are unable to work from home due to the outage. Kindly look into this issue and restore the power supply as soon as possible,” wrote one customer of Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana tagging the Chief Minister at 4.19 a.m.
