A headmaster and five government high school teachers in Wadagera have been booked after a minor student was found dead on the school premises.
The Wadagera Police said that they booked the headmaster and the five teachers after the 15-year-old boy was found dead on the school premises in a case of suicide on Wednesday.
Headmaster Ayyappa, Assistant Masters Sharanappa and Soumya, Assistant Teacher Mallappa, Assistant Guest Teachers Yallappa and Manjula, all working in the Government High School, Wadagera, have been named in the FIR as accused Nos 1 to 6.
The FIR, quoting from a complaint lodged by the parent of the victim, Mallappa Bhimaraya Pujari, said that the boy committed suicide by hanging from a tree inside the school premises.
The FIR further stated that abuse of the boy by the accused in the school on Tuesday led him to take the extreme step.
The complainant demanded action against all accused for abusing his son which he said led the boy to take the extreme step.
A case has been registered under Sections 108 and 352 of the BNS Act 2023 and Sections 3 (1)(r)(s) and 3 (2)(v) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act 1989.
The police are carrying out investigation.
