Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, who also holds Home portfolio, will visit villages along the India–Pakistan border in Kutch district on Thursday (November 6, 2025) to review development and security conditions and interact directly with residents.
Accompanied by around 30 senior IPS officers, the Deputy Chief Minister will tour several villages in Lakhpat taluka to assess key parameters such as healthcare, education, infrastructure, sanitation, safety, and border security.
The visit will begin with Mr. Sanghavi’s arrival at Bhuj Circuit House on Thursday (November 6) morning, followed by meetings with local sarpanches, community representatives, and residents. The team will also participate in khatalo sabhas, which means night-time open discussions with villagers, and hold focused interactions with women and youth to understand local issues and aspirations.
A separate session has been arranged with Border Security Force (BSF) officials to review security-related matters, including patrolling operations and the monitoring of anti-national activities along the border.
“In a symbolic gesture aimed at connecting closely with rural communities, the Deputy Chief Minister will spend the night in a traditional “bhunga” (mud house) in one of the villages, instead of a circuit house or hotel. All senior officers in the visiting team have been directed to do the same to better understand local conditions and culture,” officials said.
The state government described the visit as part of a broader initiative to bridge administrative outreach and community engagement in border regions.
