A robust system would be put in place to review and monitor the process of drug procurement and its distribution to various hospitals and then to the patients, said Minister for Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare Satya Kumar Yadav.

In a meeting at the Secretariat on Thursday, April 30, to discuss the availability of medicines, the Minister said a specialised agency would be roped in to review the whole process. He said the Essential Medicines List and Additional Medicines List would be reviewed and those medicines that are not necessary would be removed and essential ones would be added.
