Minister for Mines, Geology and Excise Kollu Ravindra on Sunday said the State government was committed to ensuring equitable development across all regions of the State.
Speaking at the third and final day of the AP Chambers Business Expo-2025, Mr. Ravindra spoke about the vast scope of opportunities in the logistics sector, leveraging Andhra Pradesh’s long coastline, and emphasised the potential of the tourism sector, particularly temple tourism, as a key driver of economic growth. He said substantial investments were flowing into the State due to the pro-industry policies of the government.
On the concluding day, the expo saw leaders from government, industry, and infrastructure sectors highlighting Andhra Pradesh’s strong growth potential and investor-friendly ecosystem.
A session on ‘Infrastructure, Port-led Growth and Logistics Advantage’ was moderated by Chairman of AP Air Cargo Forum and Managing Director of Sravan Shipping Services Pvt. Ltd. G. Sambasiva Rao, who emphasised the significant opportunities in ship repairing, owing to Andhra Pradesh’s strategic coastal advantage.
He also stressed the need to reduce logistics costs and highlighted the importance of developing dedicated truck parking terminals to enhance efficiency, safety, and seamless movement of goods.
A panel discussion was held on port-led development, strengthening infrastructure, multimodal logistics, and last-mile connectivity, underscoring the need for close coordination among government departments, infrastructure agencies, and industry stakeholders to enhance Andhra Pradesh’s logistics competitiveness.
The panelists included A. Arputha Selvaraj, a scientist from Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone, Airport Director, Vijayawada International Airport, Lakshmi Kantha Reddy M, president, All India Footwear MSME Council, Dharmendra Singh Narula, Vice-President, All India Motor Transport Congress Y. V. Eswara Rao, Chief Engineer, APIIC, Manibhaskar, Vice-President, Kakinada Sea Ports Ltd, M. Murali Krishna, and Assistant General Manager, Visakha Container Terminal Pvt. Ltd., Premchand.
In the afternoon, a seminar on ‘Women Empowerment – Entrepreneurship and Leadership Ecosystem’ was attended by the Commissioner of Handlooms and Textiles, Government of Andhra Pradesh, Rekha Rani, and moderated by the Chairperson, AP Chambers Central Women’s Wing and Deputy Managing Director Aster Ramesh Hospitals Rayapati Mamatha.
Sakku Madhavi, Managing Director, Sakku Group, along with other professionals and women entrepreneurs participated in the panel discussion and shared insights on leadership, entrepreneurship and inclusive growth.
