Strongly condemning alleged attempts by the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) to create discord in society, Jana Sena Party (JSP) Political Affairs Committee chairman and Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar said on Sunday that the JSP had been set up by K. Pawan Kalyan with welfare of the people and development of Andhra Pradesh as its objectives, and it would never indulge in “politics of convenience.”

Addressing the media in Tenali, Mr. Manohar said the YSRCP was making personal attacks on Mr. Pawan Kalyan through social media, and it was always looking to create law & order situation to derive political mileage.

He sought to know where YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was when the house of Pinipe Viswarup had been ransacked and burnt during clashes that erupted due to the flaring up of caste feelings in Konaseema district.

Irrespective of the party affiliations, Mr. Pawn Kalyan denounced the attack as he was committed to protecting democracy and doing value-based politics.

People should see how YSRCP leader Ananta Satya Udaya Bhaskar had murdered his driver and door-delivered the body to his family, the circumstances in which Dr. Sudhakar had died, and many other things that the YSRCP leaders had done with impunity, the Minister said. The coalition government would not let the YSRCP implement its divisive agenda, Mr. Manohar added.

Further, the Minister said the YSRCP should contribute to the development of the State by fielding worthy candidates in elections and motivate other parties to follow suit.

On its part, the JSP was strictly adhering to the Constitution in whatever it did and was committed to achieving the ideals espoused by Mr. Pawan Kalyan, who did not want society to be torn apart by issues of caste and religion.

The government would firmly deal with those vitiating peace, Mr. Manohar said, adding that people were the ultimate judges of which party deserved to rule the State. “This makes it imperative for the YSRCP to behave well if it intends to take the reins of power again,” he added.
