Alumni of the 1976–1978 batch of Andhra University, under the banner “Golden Jubilee Reunion Friends,” visited the university on Saturday. Andhra University, established in 1926, completed a century on April 26 this year.

The group included former civil servants such as P. Ramesh Kumar, former Principal Secretary, Government of West Bengal, and M.R. Vijay Kumar, former Director General of Police, Government of Meghalaya, among other noted people.

The alumni toured their former hostels at the Arts and Science Colleges, including Nagarjuna, Satavahana and Sadharma Sadan, as well as the Balayogi Research Scholars’ Hostel, before proceeding to their respective departments, where they revisited classrooms and recalled their student days.

They were felicitated at a function held at the Peter Drucker Smart Seminar Hall, Department of Commerce and Management Studies, presided over by Professor Jaladi Ravi, Principal, College of Arts and Commerce.

The alumni also visited the Registrar’s Office and garlanded the statue of Dr B.R. Ambedkar, concluding their visit with photographs at the AU@100 installation.
