The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has intensified mosquito awareness and anti-larval activities across the city and urged residents to spend 10 minutes a week checking their homes and surroundings for stagnant water to prevent its breeding and reduce the risk of mosquito-borne diseases.

GHMC Entomology teams are conducting awareness programmes and anti-larval operations in residential areas and other vulnerable locations. It has advised residents to remove stagnant water from containers, flowerpots, discarded tyres and other commonly overlooked breeding sites.

The civic body has appealed to residents to cooperate with field sanitation teams and make mosquito prevention a weekly practice. It also reminded citizens that only collective participation can keep the city clean, safe and protected from mosquito-borne diseases during the season.
