M. Maheshwar Rao, Chief Commissioner of the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA), directed all five corporations to appoint officers from the legal cell to initiate criminal cases against those putting up illegal advertisements, following several complaints at the West Corporation public meeting in Malleswaram on Thursday.

Residents of the West City Corporation highlighted issues of animal cruelty and footpath encroachments, e-Khata, declining footpath connectivity, illegal advertisements, and paused ward committee meetings.
