Nandyal MP and TDP national general secretary Dr. Byreddy Shabari lauded the services of Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital in Hyderabad, calling it a renowned medical institution in India.

She was speaking at the inauguration of a free mega medical camp offering free cancer screenings valued at ₹15,000 per test in Nehru Nagar village of Pagidyala Mandal in the Nandikotkur constituency on Sunday (July 12, 2026). Ms. Shabari took the initiative to organise the camp in collaboration with the Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital and the Rayalaseema Foundation.

Ms. Shabari recounted her recent visit to Vijayawada, where she met actor and Hindupur MLA Balakrishna. She informed Mr. Balakrishna, who is the chairman of the Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute, about the high prevalence of cancer patients in the Nandyal district. In response to her request, Mr. Balakrishna arranged for free cancer screening tests, including the necessary medical team and modern diagnostic equipment. Ms. Shabari expressed her gratitude to Mr. Balakrishna on behalf of the people of Nandyal district.

Ms. Shabari noted that the initiative to organise the first medical camp in Nehru Nagar was driven by Kattubadi Srinivasa Naidu, a former village sarpanch, senior TDP leader, and ardent fan of Mr. Balakrishna. She highlighted that the free medical camp was organised to provide healthcare services to residents of ten surrounding villages. She also extended her appreciation to the Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital medical team and staff from Hyderabad, the local medical team, volunteers, and TDP leaders and activists who facilitated the event.
