The police arrested four persons, including two brothers, with 8-mm bullets used for 0.315 rifle from here on Tuesday.

Those arrested were siblings Ramankutty and Umesh from Chunangad, Rasik and Aneesh from Mannarkkad.

They were picked up during a vehicle check held near Kalpathy new bridge. They claimed that the rounds were bought from Edavanna, near Nilambur, and had come to Palakkad to procure a gun.

The police said they were looking for a gun for poaching. The police has started an investigation into the incident.
