Andhra Pradesh Industries and Commerce department secretary N. Yuvaraj on Saturday directed Vizianagaram Collector S. Ramsundar Reddy and Joint Collector S. Sedhu Madhavan to take steps for the early foundation stone ceremony for the JSW Industrial Park Limited in S. Kota constituency.

The Collector assured to take steps for the programme after speaking to the representatives of Jindal group. The government’s initiative assumed significance in the backdrop of agitation of farmers who alleged that the group had not fulfilled its promises such as jobs for family members and allocation of shares.

The group acquired nearly 1,166 acres of land near Boddavaram of S. Kota constituency 15 years ago. The company has initially proposed Alumina project but planned to set up industrial park in the acquired land.
