Former DGP R. Sreelekha’s protest slogan sparks debate

A protest march led by the former Kerala Director General of Police (DGP)-turned-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) councillor R. Sreelekha in the capital city has triggered sharp social media debate after she raised slogans, widely perceived as, derogatory of the police force.

The former IPS officer was part of a BJP Mahila Morcha demonstration outside the Vattiyurkavu police station in connection with a recent clash between BJP and Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] workers at Nettayam and the purported police excesses on BJP activists.
