A day after the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) said it had busted a synthetic drug manufacturing laboratory operating clandestinely in Mysuru, a team from the National Forensic Sciences University, Gujarat, reportedly visited the facility in the city on Saturday.

Sources said that two scientists from the university, who visited the facility in the Hebbal police station limits in Mysuru, found traces of Mephodrone (MD) in various equipment found at the lab.

The scientists reportedly opined that the ‘set up’ of the lab was for manufacturing Mephodrone (MD)/synthetic drugs only. “Such set up is not required for manufacturing Phenyl,” the sources added.

It may be mentioned here that a team of the NCB police in co-ordination with the Mysuru City police carried out a search operation on a facility in the city on Wednesday.

The NCB is reported to have arrested one person from Mysuru, a relative of the prime accused Mahindra Kumar Vishnoi, after the search operation in Mysuru.
