A forensic expert has told a Pune court that the person seen on CCTV footage near the crime scene in Nasrapur is the same as the arrested accused. The testimony was recorded during proceedings on Monday (June 8) in the case of the rape and murder of a minor girl.

The court recorded the testimony of two experts from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) on Monday. They presented evidence on CCTV footage and its hash value. The defence cross-examined the experts. The accused had fled after the crime.

Two villagers saw the accused taking the girl on CCTV footage. They searched for him on a two-wheeler. The search helped establish the accused’s location. The FSL examined all footage. The examination showed that the person in the CCTV and the arrested accused are the same.

The police had collected the footage during investigation. The forensic experts proved the footage in court based on evidence.

The testimony of two panch witnesses who conducted the panchnama was also recorded by Special Public Prosecutor Adv. Ajay Misar. The defence will cross-examine these witnesses.

In this case, Adv. Himmatrao Suryavanshi represents the original plaintiff. The family of the girl is represented by Adv. Mayur Dodke and Adv. Manish Padekar.
